A synthetic polymer composed of maximum 85% polyurethane is called spandex or Elastomeric Fiber.
Spandex
Commercial name of Spandex:
  1. Lycra.
  2. Blue-C.
  3. Numa.
  4. Vyrene.
  5. Spanzelle etc.
Uses of Spandex:
  1. Bare yarn: in unit fabric, socks and hosiery wear.
  2. Covered yarn: Foundation garments, swim wear.
  3. Core spun yarn: Knit fabric, sports wear.
