Spinneret

A nozzle or plate provided with fire holes or slits through a fiber forming solution or melt is extruded in fiber manufacturing is called spinneret.

1. Spinneret holes are slightly wider at the entry than the exit.
2. Special spinnerets are required for the production of hollow fiber and bi-component fiber.
3. After long else the spinnerets get checked essential to clean them.

Problem Occur:

1. Breaking (On account of high pressure of temperature).
2. Clogging (The holes can be block for solid particles mix with polymer solution).

Remedies:

1. For breaking problem, the spinneret is to be changed.
2. For clogging, the spinneret should be cleaned after some days.
