Ticket Number

The numerical expression of sewing thread fineness or coarseness is called ticket number. There are two systems for express the ticket number which are varied regionally. Such as:

1. Cotton system.
2. Metric system.

Cotton system:

i. This system is derived from English cotton count system which refers number of hank (840yds) per lb.

ii. In this system ticket number is calculated by multiplying the resultant count by 3.

iii. In this system higher the tickets number finer the thread.
