Generally
Pigment wash is doing on pigment dyed or printed garments by using pigment
washing technique. The following reasons are required for pigment wash.
1. To fading affect or old looking affect on garment and
also seam abrasion.
2. Feeling soft when wear the garments.
3. To achieve the buyer washing standard.
4. To increase the color fastness.
5. And also to increase the rubbing.
Process
of Pigment Wash
For
pigments washing process now we take a batch which is 80kg twill/canvas
garments and the process is described below.
Step
1:
Lot
size = 80kg.
Water
= 640liter.
L:
R = 1:8.
Run
the machine.
Add
caustic soda = 0.8gm/liter.
Add
soda ash = 1.50gm/liter.
Add
detergent = 0.8gm/liter.
Temperature
= 50-60ºC.
Time
= 20-60 minute (time depend on the shade).
Drop
the liquor.
Hot
wash at 50ºC = 5min.
Cold
wash = 5min.
Step
2:
Water
= 480liter.
L:
R = 1:6.
Run
the washing machine.
Add
acetic acid = 0.5gm/liter.
Add
flax softener = 0.6gm/liter.
Silicone
= 0.6gm/liter (silicone is used for more slippery hand feel).
Time
= 10-20min.
Drop
the liquor.
Unload
the garments on trolley.
Step
3:
In
this step we used hydro-extractor machine. To remove the excess water from the
garment we used hydro-extractor machine. For this about 2-4 minutes is
required.
Step
4:
Here
we used drying machine.
Load
the steam dryer = 50kg.
Run
the machine.
Temperature
= 60-70ºC.
Time
(dry) = 40-50min.
Time
(cold) = 10-15.
Step
5:
When
drying is complete then the garments go to quality section for checking the
garments. Good quality garments will be
delivery and deep shade again rewash and other quality garments rectify then
delivery.
